Explore our new postgraduate courses in Modern Monetary Theory and Ecological Economics, delivered in partnership with Modern Money Lab Inc. 

Overview

Torrens University Australia and Modern Money Lab have joined forces to deliver a unique suite of online, global postgraduate courses in Modern Monetary Theory and Ecological Economics.

Modern Money Lab Inc. is an Australian research institute and registered charity that facilitates the development of new knowledge relating to fiscal and monetary policy, international finance, employment policy, climate change policy and ecological and social sustainability.

Leveraging Modern Money Lab’s extensive library of educational materials and research relating to the economics of sustainability, these courses are designed to create a new generation of economists, business executives, finance practitioners, campaigners and policymakers who will focus on economic issues through the lens of sustainability.

These economics of sustainability courses, which range from graduate certificate to doctoral level, will be a unique contribution to global economics education. Conducted entirely online and open to domestic and international students, this program is the first of its kind in the world. It will equip students with the skills and knowledge to address the challenges facing us in the 21st century.

This programme will teach students about the economy as it actually exists in the real world. You can think of modern monetary theory as a user manual. It tells you how the monetary system works, but it doesn't come with a road map telling you where to go. This is where ecological economics becomes very important.
