so Social Security and Medicare are two of the most popular and successful programs in American history they there are programs that are by that have broad bipartisan support Republicans independents Democrats generally speaking are very very protective of those programs they want to see them protected they don't want to see those programs eroded or chipped away at and so where we are today with Social Security is there are calls to expand Social Security recognizing that while it's one of the most important anti-poverty programs in America for the elderly in particular that it's not generous enough so there's support for expanding it and for Medicare for all you know we have Medicare but it doesn't start until age 65 and so the push now is just to lower the eligibility age to zero and to include everyone and again this is something that you know it's it's very controversial because there are vested interests who are looking to protect the for-profit private health insurance delivery system that we have today but the American people are saying we want to move we want to begin to move to a Medicare for all we want what the rest of the world has we want the protection and the guaranteed right of health care for all of our people 英語 (自動生成)
